General Information
I initially started my education in the Madrasha education system (combination of secular and religious) administered by the Board of Madrasha Education, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Under this Board I obtained one degree that is Dakhil (equivalent to "O" Level) in 1989. After the "O" level study, I switched over from Madrasha Education system to the Conventional (secular) Education system administrated by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Under this Board I obtained another degree that is HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate, equivalent to "A" Level). The examinations were held nation-wide and I scored First Division with three Letter Marks (special ranking) in Physics, General Mathematics and Elective Mathematics in Dakhil examination, and First Division with five Letter Marks in Physics I and Physics II, Chemistry II, Mathematics, and Biology in HSC examination. I also attained a "Star Grade" in the HSC examination in the Science group in the Dhaka Board. In recognition of my academic excellence, I was given two prestigious awards: the District Award given by the District Commissioner and the Local Government Award given by Local Government Commissioner. Then, I studied Chemistry in the University of Dhaka. Soon after, I left the university, because, I was awarded a scholarship by International Islamic University Malaysia in 1994 for my undergraduate program in Communication. I completed my Bachelor of Human Sciences (BHSc) degree in Communication in July 1998. Upon my graduation, I received the best student award for outstanding academic achievement in the Department of Communication. At the same time, I also received the Dean’s List Students Award from the Faculty of Human Sciences. I have completed my Master Degree in Communication in June 2000. In April 2000 I have joined in a private college (Olympia College) (Undergraduate and Postgraduate level) as a full time lecturer. I teach courses like Advertising, International Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Planning etc. I also work as a Director for Multimedia Computer Lab in the college.
Aims and Intellectual Aspirations:
I aim to become a competent expert and scholar in Communication and, thereafter, to actively involve myself, in concurrence with my future professional life as an academician or a communication career, in corporate, governmental, media or any other organisations. I also aspire to study and investigate various theories and applications of contemporary researched-based knowledge in the field of communication to become well equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge for the sake of establishing a relationship between communication and society and improving the understanding of the major analytical approaches to communication studies for professional needs. For the realisation of these aims and intellectual aspirations, I am committed to have a professional career and to become a profound thinker and prolific writer in my future life.
Future Plans and Expected Contributions:
I wish to continue my professional life as an academician or as a communication specialist in a corporate, governmental, media, or non-profit organisation. I also intend to involve myself simultaneously in activities leading to social and economic progress. I am also planning for continuing my studies for Doctorate (PhD) from any developed countries. After obtaining educational qualification in the field(s), I will also continue doing research and writing on issues and policies pertaining to new communication technologies, organisational communication, mass communication, public relations, and the importance of communication for sustainable economic and social development. Thus, the education and experience that I am going to obtain from higher education and job experience will enable me to fulfil my ambition to develop adequate communication networks and attain commercial media practice through consultancy and research in my country.
